At Lake Travis Eye Care, we are pleased to offer a wide range of optometry services for our community! Our experienced optometrist can provide you with thorough eye examinations and determine if you need corrective lenses and your exact prescription strength. Our trained optical staff can fit you with appropriate specialty eyewear and help you pick out the most flattering pair of glasses for your face shape and skin tone.
Comprehensive Eye Exams
It is recommended to have your eyes examined annually. Our comprehensive eye exam includes dilation and is a detailed examination of not only your vision but also the health of your eyes. Many eye diseases and conditions may not have any symptoms and therefore may only be discovered upon examination. Numerous general health conditions can also cause damage to the eye of which you may not be aware.
Medical Eye Exams
In addition to routine eye exams, we also see patients for medical conditions, including conjunctivitis (“pink eye”), allergy eyes, dry eyes, corneal infections, uveitis, cataracts, glaucoma, optic neuritis, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and more. Many of these conditions can be treated in office, but we can also connect you with a specialist if needed.
Glasses Prescriptions and Adjustments
The comprehensive eye exam includes a spectacle prescription, which we can easily and quickly fill for you. We will make sure the frames you choose fit you well and look good on you. We offer a variety of lens materials and coatings to ensure you receive the best possible product for your specific needs. We are also happy to fill outside prescriptions or frames. Once your glasses arrive, we again make sure you are happy with the comfort and vision, and you are welcome to return for adjustments whenever they are needed.
Contact Lens Evaluations
Our contact lens exam includes a thorough evaluation of both the fit of the contact lenses as well as the health of the eye related to contact lens wear. We educate patients on proper contact lens use and any complications observed during the exam. New contact lens wearers will be properly trained on contact lens care as well as insertion and removal. We perform many types of contact lens evaluations including spherical, toric (for astigmatism), multifocal (bifocal), and monovision. We also fit and prescribe gas permeable lenses for those patients who require these specialty lenses.
